Our many years of experience allow us to react daily to changing market conditions, enabling us to maximize returns to our pistachio growers and provide competitive pricing to our customers. Setton Farms is our premium brand, as well as the corporate identity of our numerous pistachio orchards.

We take great pride in the special attention we give to every phase of production, which ensures the top quality and value of our products. We are happy and fortunate to have many dedicated, loyal and conscientious employees, who enable us to provide QUALITY and SERVICE which is second to none.

How We Got Started

It all started in 1959 at a bakery in Brooklyn, NY, where in addition to baked goods, the co-owners, Joshua and Morris Setton began selling various nuts and dried fruit including pistachios. Soon thereafter they entered the gourmet food industry, where the demand for pistachios grew (as they are considered the food of kings and queens) as well as the demand for their other products. Setton International Foods, Inc. was then founded in 1971. During the early 70's the company expanded with the opening of a chain of nine gourmet shops under the "Five Continents" name. In 1981, the company acquired a warehouse in Plainview, NY to package pistachios, cashews, dried fruit, and various other nuts, edible seed and natural mixes. In addition, pistachios as well as other nuts and seeds were roasted on site. In 1986, Setton Pistachio Company, Inc. was formed in California, where a new pistachio processing facility was built in Madera, to process pistachios directly from our growers.

Our Expansion

The next move came in 1992, when the Plainview, New York facility moved to an ultramodern 50,000-sq. ft. warehouse in Commack, New York. This move enabled the company to expand into chocolate and yogurt panning. Setton now produces all varieties of nuts and dried fruits coated in milk chocolate, dark chocolate (parve) and yogurt.

The next expansion came in California in 1995 with the acquisition of the state of the art Dole Pistachio processing and packaging plant, marking the formation of Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. The original capacity of approximately 13 million pounds per year has been consistently increasing, with current capacity in excess of 60 million pounds per year. This has enabled us to keep up with the increasing demand of our customers and our growers. Considerable investments in technology have allowed us to maintain our top quality and service during this growth. We farm many acres of our own land as well as in partnership with some of our growers; totaling in excess of 5,000 acres of pistachio orchards. Good portions of our pistachios are exported around the world each year with the balance sold domestically.
